June 5, 2006 Dear Mayor Oberndorf: VBTA has been in existence now for over five years. For the last four years you have had a standing invitation to speak to VBTA members at our monthly Saturday morning breakfast. As you know, VBTA meets the fourth Saturday of every month from 8:30 to 10:00 at Marion Manor Retirement Center behind St. Gregory’s off Va. Beach Blvd. Our breakfast commences at 8:30 a.m. and our program begins at 9:00 a.m. sharp. This letter constitutes a restatement of our standing invitation. Hopefully over the next eight months you will have forty-minutes on a fourth Saturday morning to share with our membership your plan to provide local tax relief to families significantly burdened by increases in City spending and taxes. Knowing your long standing reputation for being accessible to all groups throughout the community, VBTA looks forward to hearing from you or your staff on when over the next eight months we can expect you to share your vision for addressing local tax relief for Beach families and taking questions from those you serve. You or your staff can provide a reply to my email address at tdmoss@msn.com or my address, 4109 Richardson Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23455. Sincerely John D.
